Curious about backpacking but not sure where to start? This small-group overnight is designed to help you feel confident and comfortable in the outdoors—without needing to figure it all out on your own. No experience required. 🌿 What’s included Everything you need is provided: • Backpack, tent, sleeping bag & pad • Cooking gear + water filtration • Headlamp + essential equipment • All meals + snacks • Small group support (max 5 women) • Instruction and support from a licensed NYS guide 🌿 Designed for beginners We move at a steady pace, take breaks, and create a supportive, non-competitive environment while making decisions as a group. 🌄 Location Finger Lakes National Forest (Hector, NY) An approachable, beautiful place to learn! 📅 2026 Dates June 20–21 | Aug 1–2 Aug 29–30 | Sept 19–20 | Oct 3–4 🌿 What you’ll learn (hands-on) • How to plan and prepare for a trip • How to pack your backpack • How to set up camp and sleep comfortably outdoors • What gear you actually need (and what you don’t) • Basic navigation (map & compass) • Cooking, food planning, and water treatment • Leave No Trace principles and outdoor safety 🐕 A note about Luna Luna, my friendly trail companion, often joins us on trips and is a great addition to our group! 🥾 What the weekend looks like Saturday Meet at 11am at the Blueberry Patch Campground Welcome + introductions Gear, food, and packing overview Outdoor skill essentials Hike 4–5 miles into camp Evening: Set up tents and camp Prepare and share dinner Practice fire skills Relax and settle into your first night outdoors Sunday Coffee + breakfast in the woods Pack up and hike out (1–2 miles) Return to cars around 10am 🌿 Small group experience Trips are limited to 5 women. 💬 “I came away feeling way more confident about getting outside on my own.” If you have questions or want help deciding if this is a good fit, I’m always happy to chat. 👉 Reserve your spot today!

Cancellation Policy

All classes take place rain or shine. Cancellations made 14 days or more in advance will receive a full refund, minus a $25 non-refundable administrative fee. Cancellations made 7–13 days in advance will receive a 50% refund, minus the $25 administrative fee. Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance are non-refundable. No-shows are non-refundable and not eligible for credit. At our discretion, a partial credit may be issued toward a future class. In the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions (such as thunderstorms or high winds), the class will be cancelled and participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another date.
