Crescent Moon Outdoors is a company passionate about providing exceptional outdoor experiences for women in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. I specialize in offering 1-2 night camping and backpacking instructional courses, focusing on skills like gear selection, camp setup, fire starting, map reading, and cooking. My mission is to empower my participants with the confidence to plan their own outdoor adventures. At Crescent Moon Outdoors, I also offer a range of high-quality outdoor gear for for our courses, including backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, and stoves. I am dedicated is dedicated to ensuring that every participant has a memorable and educational outdoor experience. Join me and embark on a journey to discover the beauty of the great outdoors.
Your Instructor & Guide
Hello! My name is Randi Lynn Quackenbush and I am NYS Licensed Outdoor Guide #9450. I have certifications in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and am a Level 1 Leave No Trace Instructor, and American Canoe Association Level 1 Kayak Instructor. I have spent hundreds of nights in a tent or in the woods - including two summers I spent living in my tent on a beach in Alaska. I am a passionate hiker and am an ADK 46er, I have summited Mount Rainier, and have hiked and backpacked throughout the country and world. I am also a volunteer instructor with the Adirondack Winter Mountaineering School, and serve on the Board for Women Outdoors, Inc, a national organization whose mission is to empower women to be leaders in the outdoors. My desire is to share the knowledge and skills, as well as the mistakes and lessons, I have in order to feel comfortable in the woods and backcountry.
As women, we can feel confident in the outdoors.
